Rosmarinus Officinalis
Also called "sea rose" or "crown grass", rosemary comes in the form of an evergreen, bushy and very aromatic shrub evoking resinous, woody and spicy scents. Its pale blue flowers, sometimes almost white, bloom almost all year round in the Mediterranean region. They secrete an abundant nectar whose accentuated perfume is characteristic of so-called Narbonne honeys. Frequent in maquis, scrubland, rockeries and other arid places of the Mediterranean coastal region, it is cultivated elsewhere in many gardens. Even if it was very popular with the ancients, it only played a small medicinal role for them.
