Cuvée spéciale
Génépi
Hors d'Âge
An emblematic cuvée from the Distillerie Meunier, the Génépi Hors d'Âge comes from a blend of Génépi liqueurs produced by distillation and having benefited from prolonged aging in oak barrels. During each bottling, between 3 and 4 barrels are selected to form a blend that we want to be as consistent as possible.
Bottled at 40% vol.
Natural Colour.
The cooperages Radoux (Charente Maritime, France) and Magreñán (Rioja, Spain) provide us with the barrels intended to hold the Génépi Hors d'Âge liqueurs during their long years of ageing. These barrels, with a capacity of 300 liters, are made of French oak and American oak.
Brilliant and limpid dark gold colour.
Intense and open with notes of herbs, dried flowers and notes of barrel aging that evoke caramel, praline and toast.
Herbal and spicy where Génépi combines with spicy and peppery notes and the range of pastry aromas provided by the oak casks. The finish evokes green pepper, rosemary, oregano and dried Provence herbs.
When served neat, prefer a wine glass or a Cognac glass. On ice, use an "Old Fashioned" type glass.
The Génépi Hors d'Âge reveals all its aromas at the serving temperature of a red wine but can also be appreciated when served very chilled, between 4 and 6°.
An exceptional liqueur, Génépi Meunier Hors d'Âge can be enjoyed as a digestive, like a great eau-de-vie or an old Chartreuse. It will also bring a woody and spicy touch to cocktail creations such as the "Old Fashionned" at Génépi Hors d'Âge.
